  • Watch The Ford's Go By

    This factory photograph of 1907 Ford automobiles under the banner that reads "Watch The Ford's Go By", which was the new slogan for 1907. This slogan was used off and on through the 1940's and again in the 1950's when it was placed to the music of Frank Loesser's hit song, Watching all the girls go by.

    LeRoy Pelletier

    LeRoy Pelletier started work at Ford in 1905 in the engineering department. His skill of promotion was recognized and he became Ford's advertising manager in 1907. Pelletier was given credit by many sources for creating the well known slogan. Ford Times magazine published an article giving Ford's traffic manager W.S. Hogue credit for the slogan.

    This Model K was photographed with passengers including Henry Ford at the wheel, advertising manager LeRoy Pelletier beside Ford, Myrie Clarkson, Edsel Ford, and Henry's wife Clara Ford, in the back seat.

  • 1907 Ford Model K

    The Model K was not changed for 1907. This was the most expensive Ford in 1907, with a price tag of $2,800. Ford investor, Alexander Malcomson, wanted Ford to offer a luxury model for buyers. The larger cars did not fit into Henry Ford's plans, but he needed the investor's money, so these cars were built to please Malcomson.

    This vintage photograph shows a court ordered test drive during the Ford-Seldon Patent lawsuit in 1907. The photograph was taken in front of the Ford store Between 54th and 55th on Broadway, in 1907. A Fisk Tire store can also be seen in the background.
